Hi all !!!
Relaxing on my Sunday night off I thought I would share with you what I am reading......this is probably old sox to you but I find it fascinating !!!
There's a magazine published every two months called Business Plus... in the latest edition it reviews the top 50 private business firms in Cork.....let me now quote you......"Musgrave Group (no. 1) is by far the most successful privately owned company in Cork and last year the trading performance was very satisfactory. Turnover increased 4.5% to €4.6 billion, of which €4.1 billion is attributed to retail brands and €0.5 billion to cash and carry and foodservice. The pre-tax profit was ahead by 14% at €81m and net debt was reduced by €139m. According to chief executive Chris Martin, Musgrave has now recorded eight years of successive profit growth, delivering a compound annual increase in profit before tax of 17%.
Martin added:"The investment in our brands, together with the approach of our entrepreneurial retail partners working and living in the communities in which they operate, is generating sales growth in all our markets." Musgrave Group supports more than 3,000 stores accross eight retail brands. in Ireland, Super-Valu and Centra retailers had combined retail sales of €3.3 billion in an overall grocery market estimated to be worth between €13 billion and €14 billion. Musgrave is also active in Northern Ireland, Britain and Spain.
A notable innovation for Musgrave in the past year was opening the first dedicated foodservice cash and carry in Ireland and there are plans to roll out others accross the country. According to Martin, this year the group and its retail partners in Ireland will invest in excess of €180m in new stores and in the development of existing stores and infrastructure to meet anticipated customer demand."......The Musgrave Cork KESP team are the Number One TEAM working for the Number One successful COMPANY.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
