Add a site counter

Can anyone try add a site counter to the homepage. I've been trying to get it to work but the only site counters I can find are in HTML format which I can't get to work as the site boxes I think only accept text. Anyone any ideas???

I've tried eveything - but they're all HTML.. I'll be the counter. I'm here now, replying to two posts so that means there were three of us here at some stage. See? I'm brilliant!
